Knaul Dry Lab

Catalyzing Research to Improve Health Equity and Access Globally

What We Do

The Knaul Dry Lab is an applied research center dedicated to generating rigorous, policy-relevant evidence to strengthen health systems and reduce inequities worldwide. Under the leadership of Felicia Marie Knaul, PhD, the Lab advances interdisciplinary research spanning health systems and reform, health economics, gender and social determinants of health, cancer, palliative care and pain relief, violence against women and children, and universal health coverage.

The Lab is home to the Lancet Commission on Cancer and Health Systems, the Lancet Commission on Violence against Women and Children, and the Global Palliative Care and Pain Relief Research Hub, serving as a coordinating platform for large-scale international collaboration across regions and disciplines. Its work emphasizes original empirical studies, comparative and cross-country analyses, and the translation of complex global evidence into actionable insights. Through close partnerships with researchers, policymakers, and international institutions, the Lab drives evidence-based strategies that inform policy, promote social development, and advance more equitable and effective health systems worldwide.
